Late spring, 2011

I love dogwood flowers. It’s one of the things I look forward to in Spring – right after the daffodils finish blooming, the dogwood and Cecil Brunner roses take over. I imagine the gold miners planted a lot of those roses because some of them are huge. The blackberry bushes are all flourishing this spring too. I guess all the rain we had in the winter has encouraged that.

As usual, I’m a little taken aback at how far into the year we are already – a couple more weeks and we’re at the halfway point – and then summer. I’m trying to avoid thinking about that. And hoping we have a mild summer when I DO think about it.
